The Old Rectory

The village of Roche is situated in mid-Cornwall and derives its name from a remarkable mass of rock known as "Roche Rock" which is famous throughout the county and where legend has it a hermit lived.

According to the "Independent on Sunday" (26/02/2006) it ranked as 1st in their list of 'sinister sites in Europe' - but fortunately you don't have to believe all you read in newspapers !!

Roche Rock

The Old Rectory stands in 3 acres of land with a long woodland drive coming up from the village.  (Particularly inspiring during Spring with all the daffodils and bluebells.

Over the past 5 years we have been changing some parts of the garden and bringing it back to possibly its original condition.  The walled garden has been re-created with a large parterre and the old vegetable garden has a new fruit orchard and a vineyard .  The vineyard is now in its third year , so this could be the year for tramping the grapes !!
See the 'Garden Pictures' page for more details and pictures throughout the year

The Breakfast team !!

We serve a good Cornish breakfast using home-made bread and local Cornish produce - hopefully with our own free range eggs -  however, we cannot always promise this, as it is not under our control !……… (there may be a chance for duck eggs !!!)
